M&A Operational Readiness (SME)
‘M&A Operational Readiness (SME)’ Pathway Audit™
Your questions answered……
What is the ‘M&A Operational Readiness (SME)’ Pathway Audit?
A critical element of a successful merger or acquisition in a SME business is the effectiveness of leadership, management and organisation during implementation. This underpins the effective direction, and deployment of staff/resources, essential in the delivery of the benefits of the M&A. Without this understanding and focus, many of the critical strategic benefits in the M&A business case can be dissipated or lost.
Why use it?
If you know your strengths and weaknesses in these key operational areas required to deliver M&A benefits, it will inform and empower you to deploy your resources effectively in the integration phase immediately after the M&A process has begun. Additionally, if the audit is used and shared by both parties in advance of the M&A, it can compare leadership and management approaches – vital information in ensuring integration and benefit delivery.
How do I use it?
This is an easy to use online audit that is completed by managers of senior managers directly involved in leading or managing the M&A. It is more powerful and objective if more than one person completes the audit, around 3 to 6 contributors would be useful. The audit takes about 20 minutes to fill in, by responding ‘Generally Agree or Generally Disagree’ to a series of statements.
When is it used?
The audit can be used at any time before, during or even after the event to inform the organisation and people aspects. The earlier it is used in the M&A process; the more planning time will be available for any subsequent actions or initiatives.
